JULY
- Keep a
weather calendar. Draw a picture
of the weather for each day next week.
- Run
around your house 4 times.
- Scoop
up a handful of rocks. How many do
you think you can hold? Count them
and see.
- Start
at 13 and count as high as you can.
Write the last number you counted.
- Share
a plate of crackers between 2 people equally. How many did each person get?
- Go on
a shape hunt around the house.
What shapes did you find?
Draw them.
- Draw a
large shape on a piece of paper.
Cut it out. Cut it into 5
pieces. Put it back together.
- Take a
hike with an older family member.
What shapes can you find?
- How
many shoes are in your closet?
Write the number using your favorite color.
- Circle
all the numbers you can find on newspaper or magazine covers.
- Blow
up a balloon. Try to keep it in
the air for 2 minutes without touching the floor.
- Fill a
tray with a thin layer of salt.
Draw circles using your finger in the salt. Draw triangles.
- Count
the number of steps from your bedroom to the bathroom.
- Go on
a pattern hunt. Look for patterns
in each room of your house.
- Line
up your family members from youngest to oldest. Who is first? Last?

- Use a

the number of people you see on TV in one minute.
- Draw
rectangles on a paper. Color 3
blue, 4 red. How many are not
colored?
- Fill a
string with pasta shapes. How many
pieces did you use?
- Use
play dough to make numbers 1-10.
- Make a
number collage. Use old newspapers
or magazines to find lots of numbers.
- Ask a
friend to lie on the floor. Line
up crayons to measure the friend.
