In March 30, 1853 Vincent van Gogh was born. Over the course fo his life van Gogh was an teacher and an art dealer. Since he dealt with art so much he began to self teach himself how to paint impressionism. Soon after his painting carreer began. In the last 10 years of his life, van Gogh created 900 paintings and 1100 drawings, and in the last 2 years of his life he made 90 paintings which were some of his best known works. He is still known today for pioneering in expressionism and his bouts of madness in which he cut off his own ear. These reasons and many more are why van Gogh was a mad, but great painter and why he is still known today.
