Westlake High School was named a 2018-2019 Cleveland Clinic Banner School. The award recognizes the school's noteworthy success in leveraging community resources to advance student learning.
Last Friday, Ms. Gerhan's class visited Scott Kutz's and Adam Purdy's Technology &
Engineering classrooms at Westlake High School in order to further engage in various hands-on
activities and expand their knowledge of how and what makers can create based on their
interests and exploring different technologies.
Twenty-two young poets from Hilliard Elementary School were selected to have their work published in a hardcover anthology from Poetic Power, a quarterly poetry contest sponsored by Creative Communications. And the school earned a Poetic Achievement Award for its efforts.
Westlake High School seniors Isabella DiGiulio, Meghana Tandon and Talia Zheng are among the 2,500 National Merit Finalists selected by the National Merit Scholarships Corporation to receive $2,500 National Merit Scholarships.
Yikun Zhou, an eighth-grade students at Lee Burneson Middle School, placed fourth in the State You Be The Chemist Challenge held April 27 at Great Lakes Science Center.
