Westlake Basketball 10k Demon Shot Club
10K Demon Shot Club
The 10K Demon Shot Club is a prestigious opportunity for Westlake Boys and Girls Basketball players who are committed to separating themselves from the competition.
Over the course of four months, players will dedicate themselves to shooting 10,000 game-speed shots—an average of approximately 80 shots per day from July 1 through October 31, 2026.
Only the most dedicated Demons will achieve this goal, and the results will be well worth the effort. If you're ready to take your game to the next level, join the 10K Demon Shot Club!

Shot Tracking & Counting

Individual Shooting
-
Every game-speed shot taken on a regulation basket counts.
-
Track both shots attempted and shots made each day.
Pickup Games or Recreational Leagues
-
Count 50 shots attempted per day.
-
Record these as shots attempted only (not made).
-
If you're confident you attempted significantly more than 50 shots, you may record a higher number. This program is built on honesty and accountability.
Westlake Basketball Youth Camps
-
Each day of a Westlake Basketball Youth Camp counts as 150 shots attempted.
Tournaments
-
Each tournament day counts as 150 shots attempted.
Other Basketball Camps or Clinics
-
Full Day: 300 shots attempted
-
Half Day: 200 shots attempted
Camp, tournament, and pickup game totals should be recorded as shots attempted only.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are game shots?
Game shots are the shots you would realistically take during a game.
Begin each workout close to the basket, focusing on proper shooting form. Once you've established your shooting range, continue taking shots that are:
-
At game speed
-
From realistic game locations
-
With the intention of making every shot
Only these types of shots count toward your 10,000-shot goal.
Examples of shots that do NOT count: trick shots, half-court heaves, or shots taken with your non-shooting hand.
Why game speed?
Practicing at game speed develops habits that transfer directly into competition. Shooting casually or playing games like HORSE is fun, but it doesn't prepare you for real game situations.
Do free throws count?
Absolutely!
Free throws are an excellent way to recover during a workout while continuing to improve an important game skill.
Can I estimate my shots?
The purpose of the 10K Demon Shot Club is to build confidence through consistent work and honest effort. Track your shots as accurately as possible and be truthful with your reporting. The only person you're cheating by inflating your numbers is yourself.
What do I receive if I complete the challenge?
Players who:
-
Reach the 10,000-shot goal,
-
Submit all monthly tracking forms,
-
Complete any required final verification, and
-
Have all submissions verified by a parent or guardian
will receive:
-
Official 10K Demon Shot Club apparel.
-
Recognition for their accomplishment at a Westlake Varsity Basketball game.
