The Westlake City School District's Custodial and Maintenance Departments maintain over 600,000 square feet of the districts facility space. Our service personnel also maintain the district’s 193 acres of green space, ball fields and playground areas. The district’s six full-time maintenance personnel complete a wide range of work requests throughout the district each year, including repairing and replacing heating and cooling mechanical equipment, electrical and plumbing repairs, and minor building construction projects.
Each day that schools are in session, the 31 full- and part-time custodial staff members maintain nearly a half million square feet, or roughly 10 acres, of carpet and hard surface floors as they prepare the classrooms for the next day of learning. Staff members clean and sanitize classrooms, set up meeting spaces, and maintain healthy building environments.
