When the weather is not good for us to go outside for recess, the gym is where we go. Here are some of the games that we have been playing when it has been rainy or too cold to go outside.
Cat Attack- A brand new game of cat v.s. mouse or teacher v.s. student
5 Pin, Pinball, Ultimate Dodge - Dodge ball with a twist
Pacman - Bringing back a classic
Monster Eye - Teams try to steal the monsters eyes away from him.
Tuesdays are theme book reading day during the homework schedule. All students are encouraged to bring in a book that they are either reading currently or a topic that interests them. Younger students have a mini library on the homework cart that has books from Porter Library based on the themes for the month. Younger students are also allowed to bring a reading buddy (stuffed animal) to read to on Tuesdays.
Our behavior chart is very similar to what you might find in your child's classroom. Our behavior chart is a color code clipping system that allows students to clip up for positive behavior but also clip down for negative behavior. At the end of the day, students will be given bee points based on where they have landed on the chart. The bee points that they earn will allow them to shop at our bee point store at the end of every other week.
