Food Services

The Westlake City Schools Food Service Department is dedicated to providing healthy, appealing and nutritional affordable meals to students and staff members. The 36 full- and part-time employees prepare an average 247,000 meals annually. WCSD is part of the National School Lunch Program and follows USDA nutritional guidelines for meals and snacks. Meals are structured to provide age appropriate calorie levels, 30% fat or less, less than 10% saturated fat, and under 1280mg of sodium. The department also participates in the district wellness plan by creating healthy choice meals and snacks at all locations.

A variety of colorful fresh vegetables are offered daily on a rotating basis (dark green, red orange, and other choices). Fresh fruit is offered every day and brought in from local orchards when in season. Potato items such as french fries are baked. All of our snack items meet guidelines for “Smart Snacks for Schools”.

Snacks can be purchased on a daily, weekly or monthly basis by cash, check or through our online credit card service using EZPay.

Free & Reduced Lunch

Westlake City School District will be participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) during the 2023-2024  school year. Under this option, all children will have to pay for their school lunch. Lunch costs are Elementary and Dover Intermediate $3.00, Lee Burneson $3.50 and High School $3.50-$4.00. Student milk cost is $0.65. Your children may qualify for free meals or reduced-price meals. To determine eligibility for free meals or reduced-price meals and various additional state and federal program benefits your child may qualify for, please complete, sign and return this lunch program application to your school building if your household income falls within or below the guidelines listed on the application chart. 

Beginning on August 23, 2023, reduced-price meals for the 2023-2024 school year will be free to qualifying students with reduced-price eligibility. The State of Ohio budget will cover the cost of $0.40 per reduced lunch served. Families must submit a free/reduced meal application to verify eligibility.
