My name is Abbey Samide and I am the 2019-2020 Dover Intermediate School PTA President. I am excited to serve in this role and look forward to welcoming you to the DIS PTA Community.
The PTA has an exciting year planned for 2019-2020 DIS students. We will kick off the school year with Fall Fest and the Read-A-Thon. The Read-A-Thon is a two week celebration with daily prizes for students and our biggest fundraiser. The PTA sponsors the epic DIS Halloween party that is full of food, fun and games. We head into the holiday season with Cocoa and Cookies and sponsor Reflections a program encouraging the arts. Each quarter the PTA and DIS staff celebrate student successes with quarterly rewards. We provide funding for staff grants, host staff appreciation, field day, 5th and 6th grade activities, DISC club, Book Club, Book Fair and many other activities to enrich your student's time at DIS.
We rely on support from parent/grandparent volunteers to continue our tradition of excellence in programming. We realize everyone has commitments and obligations. We are requesting your support and this support can come in many forms. Volunteering your time or financial support by being a member of the PTA. Our PTA meets the second Thursday of every month at 7pm in the DIS library. You can be a member and not attend meetings however we would love to have you join us. We make an effort to keep the meetings to an hour. We encourage you to participate in any capacity and welcome all family members to join.
Please read the weekly E-blast. It contains important information, dates and will keep you updated on all the exciting events happening at DIS.
Should you want to reach out for any reason you may contact us at DISPTA@wlake.org. I look forward to meeting you and to a great 2019-2020 school year.
