Support the School Community Through PTA!

Dear DIS Families,

Welcome – or welcome back – to Dover Intermediate School. My name is Diane Metzger, and I’m excited to serve as the DIS PTA President this year.

Incoming DIS students arrive fresh out of elementary school. In two very quick years, they become full-blown 7th graders. What a whirlwind of growth and change! And what an opportunity for us all to create memorable PTA programs for the kids, and to support the staff who are there for them each day.

Please get involved in PTA in whatever way you can:

1. Join DIS PTA. Your individual ($15) or family membership ($25) fee helps fund the PTA activities that are provided all school year. DIS is a school with only two grades, so your membership makes a big impact on our budget.
    
2. Sign up for the PTA eblast and check the box with your student’s grade. Even if you already receive PTA emails, you can sign up again to be sure you’re opted into our PTA eblasts, which are sent weekly on Sundays during the school year. You don’t need to be a PTA member to get them – if you have a student at DIS, please sign up!
    
3. Volunteer or donate items throughout the year. As you’ll see in our eblasts, many DIS PTA programs rely on families to give their time or donate items. Whether it’s an hour of your time or a box of cookies, your contributions make PTA events possible.
    
4. Attend a meeting. If you’d like to meet more families in the community and learn more about what your PTA is doing, come to one of our monthly membership meetings. All are welcome. Continuing a DIS PTA tradition established last year, most months we’ll meet at Time Warp Bar at 7:30 PM to conduct our official business before karaoke night begins at 9:00 PM. 

Finally, thank you to the parents and family members who serve as PTA executive board members, program chairs, committee members, and volunteers. Many hands make light work, and together we’re going to make this a great year.
