The Hilliard Elementary community educates for excellence by creating an environment that promotes globally-minded, compassionate, lifelong learners who are knowledgeable and socially responsible citizens.
Students from preschool to 4th grade have the opportunity to become a member of Hilliard’s Little Sprouts Garden Club. The club meets from the beginning of the school year, and even into summer. Throughout the year, the children learn about gardening in all aspects, from planting, growing, composting and so much more. There is plenty of opportunity for parents to volunteer and help out. Our Garden Club is sponsored by a minimal membership fee, community grants and the Hilliard PTA.
Fourth-grade students are able to apply to be a member of the Tech Team each fall for the school year. Students assist with keeping the lab clean and organized, as well as prepare the lab for each day’s learning by turning the monitors on and logging in. They also help prepare for testing situations and progress monitoring. The students love taking responsibility and engaging in 21st century learning skills.
