We Educate for Excellence

Westlake Elementary School

Westlake Elementary School

Outdoor recess - We make sure that our students are able to go outside for recess to get exercise and fresh air each school day unless the “Real Feel” temperature is less than 20 degrees, or there are other limiting conditions (rain, heavy snow, etc).  The “Real Feel” threshold combines wind chill factor and temperature, and we follow information from the National Weather Service.  To ensure students are comfortable at recess, please dress your child in coats, hats, gloves, boots, etc.  that is appropriate for the day’s outside weather.  Please remember to label all clothing. Thanks for the help!
